Have you heard about Barefoot College in India? Neither had I until today. And Yesssss! I have discovered another wonderful thing. This is a college that addresses problems of drinking water, girl education, health & sanitation, rural unemployment, income generation, electricity and power, as well as social awareness and the conservation of ecological systems in rural communities. Sanjit 'Bunker' Roy established the Barefoot College in Tilonia in Rajasthan's Ajmer district.
An article in GoodnewsIndia.com describes an article exemlifying 4 rural women and 2 of them aged 19 and 26 years have learned to build solarpanels from Barefoot college and have installed them in their villages. Very Interesting aint it? Read on
